Compression test
instructions
These are for a talon but the principle is there. I was thinking about changing spark plugs and while I'm there I'd do it. I want to put a turbo on it and it would be good to know. Any tricks for getting that funky, three piece manifold out of the way? I figure I will check out the throttle body while I am there
the stinkin filter keys option is stuck on my computer*

I'd recommend doing a leak down test if you have access to an air compressor. Its more accurate and will give you information as to where the leakage is going, i.e. valves, rings, etc. Normal compression testers are notoriously inaccurate and mainly for detecting cylinder to cylinder variance.
The intake manifold is just time consuming to get off. No real suggestions other than have a pair of really long nose pliers for the coolant lines that run under the throttle body.
