PM ScottURnot and he can help. You may be able to get that power if you buy right and do a lot of the work yourself. You really need to build the motor for that level of power, which is not cheap.

if your are planning on going down the v8 route i can give you a list of parts for $6000 (if you source the right sellers you can get really far):
bullet ford m90 supercharger mounting kit(everything included minus spercharger)-$2600
good condition ford m90-no more than $500-600ish
total=$3200 this combo is good for 390 horses add a set of headers and exhaust(arout $1300) youll be putting down around 405-415 depending on exhaust. total=$4500
if you want to get 600 horses you'll need a new fuel system, new forged internals, full arp bolts, new ecu, beefed up tranny... youll be looking around $7500 unless you can rebuild your own tranny that will save you about $1500. good luck with your project... ill be going down the same route soon

if you dont plan on keeping the auto when you boost your sc you can always do an R154 swap for the same price as a new performance auto tranny...

He's gonna need it... Along with more money than 5k.

As Ryan noted, to get 600hp on the V8, you will need alot more $. 4.7 has weak rods.
On the 1JZ, I'm pretty sure once you buy the engine at whatever price it's running, you'll not be left with enough money to get to 600hp. Then you need an LSD, rims/tires to hold the power, etc etc etc. It adds up quick! GL

after looking up the tundra block it will at least cost me a little over 2500 grand. that will be most of my money right there. now thanks to some advice from some club members im thinking about rebuilding my motor completely. right now i have over 248,000 miles on my car but its slowly starting to break down. My friend is letting me get his auto tranny off his 2jz so i can bolt it up to my 4.0 once i rebuild it.

Now has anyone on here have a blacked out engine like everything is completely black. im thinking about doing this myself

Im thinkin of doing the 4.7 swap, i have a vvt-i 400 & it might be a direct bolt up for me. the tundra has dome top pistons & the sc's have flat top piston's. if you have a 92-97 sc4 you have to mill the tundra pistons down or buy new forged. lextreme thinks that the dome top piston's will work with my vvt-i heads. i priced a 50,000mi tundra motor they are going on ebay for 1000-1500. I dont want to have to mess w/ecu or piggyback set ups, i want bolt on like factory. If i can make 300 rwhp, ill be happy.

If you want the 600 mark you are going to have to build internals, and PLEASE dont put a poopstang motor in it. The tundra motors make low 500's with the TRD supercharger. However its a tall motor with the newer 5.7 I-FORCE motor even taller. Look up "Drift Emporium G35". They have a Titan motor with a Stillen supercharger and it sticks through the hood. The G35s have taller engine bays than the Sc's so you might have to go centrifugal. That right there will blow your 5K budget.

I am putting a 525 hp LS in my Sc300 and staying NA. If you want that kind of power look at the LS3 that came in the new Camaro's and the Escalade's. With a Cam, headers and Intake you can be 600 with no boost and stock internals. Much safer. But much more expensive, more like $10-12K. I will able to do my swap for sub $6K since I do fabrication for a living and can do everything myself(motor mounts, cage, headers, etc.)

just my .02

The 2UZ block is iron and weighs around 90lbs more than a 1uz. But I read u can use the rods from a 1uz. And if thats the case, ive got a 92 1uz motor in my sc4 with the stronger internals I could use if I do this swap
