Exclamation rebuild or swap?

Hey guys I'm new here to be nice to me!!

I recently got my 95 SC and the 2JZ-GE engine with roughly around 174k on it. The engine itself lost a lot of horsepower with consistent driving from the previous owner. So my question is whether I should rebuild the engine or swap it out entirely. If i do swap it out, I was planning on going either a 1JZ or maybe a 2JZ-GTE (if i can find one) let me know!

Thanks

money isn't an issue right now. I was planning to strip out the car to make it drift spec. Additionally, I would have to do a transmission swap as well since the car is an Automatic.

I don't understand this statement. did the engine loose compression? blown head gasket? misfiring? I don't see how an engine looses horsepower from consistent driving... thats the ideal type of driving for an engine.
174k is nothing for a properly maintained 2jz-ge. I run a 140k completely stock ge motor (stock compression) @ 10psi every day. It never skips a beat. do a compression test, mileage is like judging a book by its cover.
more information can be found by utilizing the search button.

you're gonna have to refresh a gte swap anyways or you are asking for trouble. were talking timing belt, water pump, lots of seals and gaskets from sitting around, etc etc. at least with the older engine you know it hasnt been sitting around for an unknown amount of time.
So your original question should be more like rebuild ge or swap and rebuild gte.

Okay thanks for the information. Well i'm thinking about it and I probably will just rebuild the engine with OEM parts or Aftermarket with stock specs. I slept on it and thought that maybe going VIP would be better. haha

Any thoughts?
