Default Intermittent Starting

I just bought a 92 SC4 but it's got issues. Sometimes when I try to start it it won't do a thing. All the lights come on like normal but when I turn the key......nothing. It's almost like the car doesn't know it's in park cuz sometimes I just jam the shifter and it will start. Anybody know how to fix this?

Sounds like your nss (neutral Safety Switch). When you put the car in gear do the lights on the dash match your gears?

RyanV I was thinking the same since I just posted on sventhemac click, click post in regards to starter contacts which I followed to a tee & my car is starting perfectly now.

djpauldc1 please check this post - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...not-271-a.html

it cost me $23 + $6 s&h for starter contact kit from eBay to fix the problem.

I had the same no start problem.I was looking for a short when I got to the ECM. I found a loose connection on one of the plugs to the ECM .Check your ECM plugs. Might solve your no start problem. If your check engine light is not working. I will bet that a loose connection is your problem.

It ha[ppened with out warning and I checked everything, Fuses relays tapped on the starter and nothing. All it was acording to my mechanic was a dirty ignition switch
