I have worked on it on my lunch time for 10 minutes have not checked the voltage but i double checked to ground and there is no continuity and it is definitively the good wire on that smaller pin of the climate controler because its the same wire i first hooked up to the AC pin on the chaser ecu that is coming from the connecter under the blower i think its pin 5 L-R wire and there is continuity between from climate control to that pin 5... anyways my point is that i think the climate control does not pulls to ground anymore it might be defficient. i jumped that wire to ground and the rpm changes and ac magnetic compressor relay pulls in and powers the magnetic pulley. i might install a secondary switch or open the climate control and use the ac button and redo the circuit so it goes to ground when i push it.

Well i finally worked on the matter and from my L-R wire is the good one but does not connect to ground i am thinking the first wire setup i made brought 12 volt to the pin and fried the internal circuit that was connecting to ground... everything else is working in the climate control. I also tried to hook up to ground on the ground side from LED of the AC button with no succes so i had to wire a secondary switch to ground that will have to be switch for the compressor to start and idle to raise.

with the switch everything is working fine.

Anyone know if wiring up the safc2 is as straight foward as it is on a non-vvti 1jz?

Dexlex....Are you on stock ignition?

Wire It exactly like a jzz30/jzx90 1jz. Rpm, pressure, throttle and sensor ground are same pins. I just took a vafc2 off my car in exchange for an Emanage ultimate. The vafc2 worked just fine.

Also took my car to the dyno Friday. Stock everything aside from hy35 and 4" down pipe and 15psi. 342.7 whp at 5400 when I ran out of injector. I'll try to get some graphs, can't remember the tq. Had full boost at 3600 iirc. Vvti is awesome

Very nice guys, i will be doing this swap in a couple weeks for a buddy... 1jzgtevvti /single turbo/ v160/ems
I like the engine but the parts are very hard to come by and when they do they are very expensive...

But i do have a couple questions for the guys that are single turbo..
What Turbo manifold are you running? I don't like the maf sensor in front of the turbo and i know its a must if you are on the stock ecu so this car will be on standalone.
So who makes a pnp aem ems for this setup?
I can make my own harness but my only issue is the VVTi.. the 2 wires that comes from the solenoid to the ecu.

Wire it as a 7th Fuel Injector.

VVT-i actuator runs on Duty Cycled Signal such as a Injector or a Boost Control Solenoid so just wire it up as such.

Quick sc4:

I'm running a manifold from thaisomewhere, and it needed A LOT of work. If you just HAVE to go with a larger turbo than stock and the dm upgrade isn't sufficient, I'd either look into something from aus or Japan with a good track record of quality unless you really feel like working over an eBay job. Also, like the other guy said, vvti is just a solenoid, a pwm output should take care of it.

Curious to the overall goals of this vehicle you'll be building. Also, do you have a competent tuner? May I suggest a pfc? Iirc they now have a version that can run a map sensor for the x100 engine. I really like the way the stock ecu works for these engines vs the non vvti. I now have the same setup in my daily non vvti as my missile vvti car, and the vvti pulls harder with zero correction than my non vvti with safc style airflow corrections. Same turbo, injectors, and wastegate.

Vrank ,

Thanks for the reply, the DM single upgrade will not cut it !!
The fun part is everything has to come from japan or AUS like you said or the Ebay stuff that you have to modofie to fit a decent size turbo.

The goal is to make 770-830rwhp on Full Kill mode on this setup so the turbo will be like BW S400 or the GT4202. He wants a Hwy car !

The non VVTi is junk that's way i always use a 2jzgte ecu on 1jzgte setup everytime i do the swap for other people or help a buddy.
I love the VVTi model ! I have an 02 GS300 and i love smoove transition and it's a get up and go car
The car will be on Proefi and Larry from SP will tuning the car so he is best Proefi tuner out there.

Please if you don't mind send me some pics of your setup.

Alot of parts have to be custom made. Also, remeber that its easier to tune the car with a full standalone and not a piggy back.here are some recent pics of my 1jvvti swap. Ive upgraded to a custom turbo manifold with a 6262 precision turbo, custom fuel system, custom fuel rail, custom polished spark plug cover and custom polished piping. here are some pics...
I know this is and old post but your car looks awesome...

Does anybody know where I can get a new 1JZ VVT-i spark plug cover, I'm doing a swap on a MKIII supra and the one on my engine is scratch up and I would like to get a new one.
