Coolant leak, Bucking/jerking, low idle, Intake gasket leak? Help?
I have a 92 sc400, I recently replaced the starter and since then my car has been running ****tily, first off, the engine idles wayyy lower than it used to. it idles around 300rpms and sounds like it has a wicked cam in it... I have to keep my foot touching the pedal to keep it from dying and if i give it a little gas the rpms spike to 2500-3k...
ALSO. whenever my car heats up (this only happens sometimes, but recently more than not) my car is leaking coolant onto the exhaust manifold where it instantly turns to a nice sweet smelling white smoke, where if i'm at a stop sign it will appear as if there is a fire under my hood ... I tried to locate the leak with really no luck, i know its coming from the back passender side of the engine, is there some type of coolant bypass line that could be doing this that maybe never got reconnected?.... and as far as the low idle thing, I wonder if there is an intake gasket leak, could this also be causing the coolant leak?!? when the starter was replaced all new gaskets were put in, could not torqing the bolts correctly have anything to do with this?
Otherwise, when im going 10 or so and floor it on a straight away it pulls like a bat out of hell and I dont think it has lost much, if any power....
OH and 1 more issue.. at between idk 37-42 mph apx (1200rpms) it bucks pretty bad if left in drive, if i shift it down manually into the next lowest gear the bucking stops... My ride has 166K on it, I bought it with 155k about a year ago for $3,500 I really have not performed too much maintenence on it besides oil/air filters/changes, If anyone could direct me to some things that they think may be the problem I would highly appreciate it..
Thanks alot you guys!
