Labor cost for transmission swap.
I just called up a performance shop in town and asked how much the labor would be to swap the automatic out in place of the W58. The price?
2300 dollars.
I was told that a job like this would probably be about 10 labor hours or about 1000 dollars. Since everyone here is more of an expert than I am, does this sound like a ridiculous price for just the labor?

well here is a "quick" run down on what has to happen
1. tear down the center console *inside the car*
2. remove exhaust from the down pipe back just because it makes it easier
3. remove driveshaft starting from the rear is easier
4. unbolt the bellhousing from the engine 1/2" extensions with swivels are a godsend for this and air tools. Might also need to play with the transmission support.
and from there you know removed the auto flywheel/disk... make the holes for the master clutch cylinder/ clutch pedal install it everything and put back together. I am sure there is some electrical stuff that needs to be done too, I just don't know that part.

Well with a car lift, air tools, and a transmission holder... the actual work of bringing down the transmission and putting it back in shouldn't be more then 3-5 hours. At my friends shop it took me 4 hours one day to drop my r154 and put it back in. I am not sure how long it would take to put in the clutch pedal and make the whole for the master clutch cylinder. Once again assuming everything is there.
