Neglect.....that's what happens when you don't change the oil regularly. Myself, I'd request a different motor....if that's out of the question, I'd clean it as best you can with a shop vac handy to catch the chucks as you scrape it off.....you're certainly going to want to pull the oil pan off and clean everything in there, as well as check/replace the oil pump pick up tube/screen. that mess will eventually break loose and clog the screen, killing your oil pressure and eventually the engine.....Ask any 1.8t VW guy what happens when oil sludges up like that in a motor...lol

Holy smokes! That is some nasty sludge. I hope my swap doesn't look like that when it shows up...

Your tellin me. Ive been taking alot of time to clean things up, just finished cleaning out the head pretty good (seafome will handle rest) Valve covers are pretty clean and had em re painted. Just waiting for some parts to come in the make more progress and I still have to pull my current setup.

if that's all over the cams, it's probably the same through the rest of the engine. IMHO, get it torn down all the way to the bare block, get it professionally cleaned and rebuilt. After seeing under that valve cover i would never drop that in without tearing it down a bit. I half assed a few things during my build and now im regretting it as im still not done with some things. Do it right the first time around and you won't have to worry about it too much in the future. good luck

What can be eliminated with the aristo motor? Under the intake manifold thers a round canister with 2 vacuum lines. Can I remove it? Also the first flap in TB and second throttle cable. I believe for Trac control. Is the only way to eliminate that to get a different TB. Any advice to free up room greatly appreciate.

the canister your talking about is your pressure tank which plays a role in your turbos. If you are going single just cap those hoses off. I think hks or greddy has the traction control delete kit for the gte.

take that thing apart.
do not put it in your car like that.
in fact, take the head to be cleaned/inspected/rebuilt if necessary.

have you drained the oil (or lack thereof) out of the pan?
i would be surprised if that engine still has bearings.

you may be better off getting a refund or replacement with good pictures.
what company did you buy from?
