Not really sure how to vote, because when my MAF went out on me due to using CRC MAF cleaner(I know should of done my research) my car would buck on me right at WOT. So just simply unplugging it will boost power? I thought that would throw a CEL and put your car's computer in some sort of a default mode. Can some one shed some light on this for me?

In many cases, the sensors on our early model 1UZ'S are not communicating properly with the ecu and we are getting what seems to be very bad ignition issues. Unplugging the maf puts the ecu in a default "safe" setting mode and ignores most sensor inputs. This bypasses the faulty sensor communication that cannot be narrowed down for us and although the resulting fuel/timing map is far from ideal (only 10 degrees of timing advance as I have found), it is much better than before and results in more torque and power. 10 degrees of timing advance is very weak, though.

Thank you for putting things into perspective, but when you say early models we're talking up to 95 right?

We've only tried it on 92-94 SC's, but I think somebody may have done it with a later model somewhere on this thread.

Oh well, I guess it doesn't apply to my 95 then. I think I'll just try the Sea Foam method, and do a extensive intake cleaning, and see if that gives me a little extra something. Couldn't hurt right? Oh and thanks again for the enlightenment...

Thanks for the hand...but too bad Innovate makes in-calibrate-able widebands! No tuning for me today . I can't believe everything worked and I got perfect signals first try only to have a wideband ruin my fun. Makes me want string curse words together indefinitely.
