I cant really see where you are pointing because the pictures are to small but from where you are pointing it looks like the distributor oring is bad, could you enlarge the pictures

Just out of curiosity, what would leak out of the distributor if the O-ring was bad?

Oil.

It separates the head and distributor.

I'm sure it would come from the head...I've just never seen a major leak from a Distributor. Plus with the amount of spark and heat. Oil inside the cap, would catch fire no problem.

The distributer actually goes INTO the head. So the o-ring holds the oil back from going the other way.

It's a very common problem on these cars, it usually falls off into the Alternator and fries it.

In the DIY Sticky Thread.

EDIT: No, it won't cause a fire because the cap and rotor are at an angle at which oil won't touch it.

I'm full-on retarded tonight...Sup2jzgte did say O-ring and for whatever reason I took it as the gasket/seal between the cap and rotor...then I'm thinking there "could" maybe be someway that oil could make it to the rotor...inside the cap. Then I'm like "that would be bad, cause of the heat", Then I just envisioned it catching on fire. But your right, the gasket in the head is probably shot and leaking.
