I gave never used Holset.

I really don't like Garrett i don't know why!! not saying that they are not good Turbos.

Precision 6262 or 6265 will be perfect for the 1JZ.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, i respect that. This is why there are still guys that drive hondas, and there are some very fast hondas out there! I like holset's. they are cheap to rebuild, dime a dozen and while somebody might spend $1300 on a turbo, I would rather go to the junkyard and spend at the most $300 for a holset and take that other $900 and get cams and springs, or have my fabricator build a nicer flowing manifold or be that much closer to buying a set of nice rods.

I have a Billet 6262 and it is a great turbo but, the spool is not as quick you would think. I running 550 injectors, 264 cams, FPR. At 18-19psi and making 429 rwhp. But it doesn't come into play untill well in the upper rpm range. I am thinking of selling it and going with a bt 57.

i would think a 6262 would be way too huge for the tiny 1JZ. Im looking into the old CT26 57 trim upgrade for my 1J, not looking to put out a ton of power, just enough to keep me going until i go for something bigger.

As for the original twin upgrade i looked into that and honestly, looks to be way too much of a hassle. Better to keep it simple and single.

Do you have direct experience with Holset turbos to warrant calling them POS? Just curious.

.68 A/R, Tune NEO. Runs great not rich, Starts to spolling around 4000 rpm hits hard at 6000 to redline, the cams really keeps the power on. If I can get it to come on 500-1000rpm less I would be very happy, but I am happy now. I think I have been spoiled driving with the twins for over 2 years at 14 psi.

Nate why does it spools that late? that's like a 67 on the 1JZ!!!
Maybe it's time for 1.5JZ or SP QSV lol ,Matt's T78 spooled faster than that.
The 6262 .68ar should not be that laggy on the 1JZ, It's should be instant.

My 6765 was instant on the 2JZ but it was too brutal for me, it was absolutely no Lag but i wanted some "LAG".

Somethin isnt right then, its no way ur car should be spooling that late with a 6262, QuickGS300 took the words right out of my mouth, 4000K spool up is like he said a 67mm turbo...u should be hitting full boost by 3800k.

Ive rocked an hx40 on my 92 eagle talon tsi. i have nothing but good things to say about holset. Dime a dozen and spool like a 16g but holds like a 50 trim. Very nice turbos in my opinion. ill prolly run one on my 1jz here soon.

Sorry for the 1 year bump.

But you can upgrade them:

ct12a twins, replace the ceramic with inconel shafts and do GT2860RS compressor wheels:

I also do 35mm internal wastegate upgrades to help the pesky boost creep everyone see's in the 1jz twins:
