Yes and No.
The 1JZ port are so small, compare to the 2JZ.
The valves are small compare to the 2JZ.
The exhaust manifold will not clear the oil return on majority of the time.

So if you can port and polish the head to make it breath better that will be a plus.

Yes it's better if you don't wanna go FFIM with you Na-T the 1JZ head will be great option, you can pick them up for a cheal price.

It's all about how much money you have? how much are you willing to spend? how patient you are? what are you looking for? what do you like? what you care for? how far are you willing to go?

That set up is nice. Who machined the cams to fit? Thinking about having this done while my engine is out.

no, not always.
as klaus said "use what ya got." otherwise, don't waste your money (or time).
2j head has been proven much better (unless you are on a TIGHT budget... but you may wanna reconsider your approach).

looks like fun. those stray wires kinda scare me.

and what tires are those? they look freaking scary mean.

Local machine shop , just take them both cams the 1JZ cam and the one that needs machining , because all they do is take the measurement.

Sherwin I will make sure he come to the ISP meets lol,and he will be ready for mexico
2k11.

The wiring is done lol why is everybody scare of wires? haha my friend say exactly the same from the begining to the end.
"Does anybody make this harness PNP? for the Supra? I said NO haha.

The Tires are Toyo R888 they look mean.

The 2JZ Head is way better than 1JZ hands down.

Cool, look forward to checking out the car. The R888 tires are the best I've ever had for highway fun outside of DR's.

So made some progress last night , after 2 hours of diagnosting i realise it wasn't getting any fuel.
We are using some Low Imp injectors with resistor box, and i did the wiring; so i rip the wiring back off the check the resistor wiring.
The wiring is 100% correct, but we are still not getting 12 at the injectors so that confuse the hell out of me

So then i asked my friend ? did you plug the body plugs on the kick panel?
He replied NO!!I got because he was suppose to plug everything up and he told he did the day we installed the harness i should have checked but i didn't.
So tonight i will mess with it again so hopefully she will be running.

Post Well

Well parts gathering is now over for the engine. i started messing with it yesterday. had decided on going auto to make it easier and to get everything up and running. then i would be waiting on v160 funds to accumulate. made up my mind that id only get a r154 if it was soarer or chaser (tripod shifter). ive missed out on a few second guessing myself. just missed one this morning from turbodremz in the classifieds by not pulling the trigger. which makes me think it must not be meant to be so im striving for the v160 while i kill the auto.

so now anytime i get between work and christmas ill be getting the engine ready to go. ill probably be starting a thread here soon
