imo start with these ..theres 3 parts..will help you begin
http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...o_tech101.html
as far as what turbo to buy..figure out ur ultimate goal...then build around that..find a turbo that can EFFICIENTLY give you the power you want..
theres a ton of reading that can be done to figure out what turbo will suite you perfectly..
each turbo has a compressor map that will give you the info you need to know to figure out what it will do for your motor....like said theres a lot to learn ..
but first and foremost..what do you want out of your motor whp wise..

what's your goal and budget?
please make sure you don't buy one of those $300 ebay turbos! don't waste your money on those garbage,do it once my friend.
don't cheap out on these items turbo, engine management, wastegate ,oil lines and you will be fine.

600rwhp on na-t you need a standalone,
750cc to 1000cc injectors depending on what fuel you will be running.
tial 44 wastegate, 62mm Turbo with 81ar is you need it should max out a little over 700rwhp. hell you can do 6765 with 81ar you will definitely have fun with that thing.
tt headgasket, dual pump maybe one intank and one inline with aeromotive fuel filter,ss fuel line and aftermarket fuel rail.
You can get away without cams, but I will be easy to reach your goal with some cams.

I don't actually know if I what I was looking at would be cheaping out or not. I was looking at getting the Suprastore.com turbo kit. I genuinely have no idea what is considered a good price for a turbo. I just am starting to get into the NA-T after planning a 1JZ swap for a while. As for a budget I'm not really sure about that either. Over time I'm willing to spend just about anything. all at once is another story. To me it's great to buy an intial turbo kit and upgrade piece by piece to get where I need to be. Is that a bad idea? if it is please tell me why. I'm not trying to argue I just genuinely don't know. Also what should I look for in cams? Alot of the ones I've seen mention that the'yre for drag racing, would those be bad on street/road racing car?

you can not use a tt stock fuel rail, you need a side feed fuel rail .
Do not buy from suprastore, I repeat do not buy from them you will hate yourself for that.
buy some 750cc injectors because the maximum power you can with these on 93 octane is around 570 590.you can keep the stock fuel rail for 500rwhp no problem, I have made over 500rwhp on the stock fuel rail and stock fuel line and 1 walbro in tank.
once you figure out what you gonna do with the tranny you can upgrad some of the parts and go for more power.
if you more power you will need to go with ethanol that will be the cheapest way in the long run, it will cost more money buying the parts but after that you will $2.78 per gallon and make more compare to race gas and its 3 times cheaper.
264 or 268 ttc cams will work, 272 is over kill if you are not running a 71mm or bigger turbo.

okay then I guess my next question is why would i hate the Suprastore kit? I feel like it's good info to have out in the open for anyone else who is looking into this. Would I be happier with driftmotion or XS-Power?

Sorry but you have to do some of the search on your own

not so much the kit but the place. cant go that wrong with either*, xspower is hit or miss.. apparently I was one of the lucky few whos XS turbo still works and doesn't leak. the driftmotion kit after further review looks just like the XSpower one. they are basically start up kits that will get you turbo'd and you replace what you want from there. If you now you want the best of the best, Just piece together your own kit its really not that difficult.

Even though I don't know either Ali and quickGS300 you guys are really good sources of information and good on telling it on how it is. I need to thank you both. I know it's not my spot to thank anyone but I think if it wasn't for you 2 and few other members on here I think I would avoid this forum at least on the SC3/400 side.
