2JZGTE Swap vs NA/T Build
#46
A dude that I know from Arizona will do the whole swap including the motor minus fluids and gaskets for 3200-3500 range.
2mjz performance of Arizona. He is got formal shop.. not you regular back yard mechanic.

what i did was i bought a full clip. took everything i needed from it and sold the rest.bought the clip for 3k and sold around 1400 in leftover parts.it came out to 2k since fluids and i needed a new clutch pedal and front driveshaft.did all labor myself.first time dealing with wiring aswell

OP.. my GTE/V160 build was close to 10k~ when it was done with labor. Granted the 6sp tranny alone was 4k~ Im at 350whp @ 15psi on stock USDM twins turbos.
Looking at 6k~ for the swap with an auto tt tranny. With the extra major headaches from finding and hunting misc parts to finish it.
Go NA-T if your only looking to spend 3k. Only thing you need to worry about is how to tune the sucker correctly.
If your goal is only 300-350whp. I would go NA-T for budget.
Relibility is on who builds/tunes it.

i say the same, with 9k i shld be able to get the swap and the boostlogic upgraded auto tranny installed. Not discreditting the 2jzge which is a bad *** motor, but id rather spend the cash and do it right, if i was a on a budget id go with the xpower kit or whate ever its called.

You guys are confusing the hell out of me LOL... At first i was going to swap in my gte vvti then i decided i wanted to make alot of power and didnt want to complex of vvti to get in the way so i ended up deciding i wanted to swap my NA head on my GTE block and build the head and turbo it.. Have you guys done this? Or heard anything of this? ether way im doing it.. so i can just swap it in use LS coils and use my factory wireing harness with a AEM standalone and of corse all the goodies like ffim ect..

We are all different , we don't build our cars for the same purposes so gte may suit you since you just want 300rwhp, where for the same money you spent on your gte i am making 600rwhp reliable dd . i am just saying

You have Mainstream Performance out in Dallas, Georgia.
You got Lethal Injection in Alpharetta.
BATLground Performance Marietta.
Then you have Zen Motors out in Suwanee. My SC300 is currently there being swapped into a 2JZ-GTE.
Of course you have to make your own choice but when it comes to Zen, PM me and I'll give you the details to avoid any drama on the boards.

No sir i went for a goal of 700whp & DD 450whp which I accomplished on GTE, GE is a bad *** motor as well bt I've always liked the GTE for its solid healthy support of mods plus its more boost friendly vs the GE, whether it's a GE or a GTE ur gonna spend sum cash if u want it done right w/quality.

At the end of the day , it all about what you like and how much you are willing to spend. I am not getting a gte because of the intake manifold , I can make my own intake manifold..for my na-t.
