Be careful when you pull the top of the stepper motor off. There is a small metal disc thing in there that can fall out. It just sits in there. Not sure what its function is.

Yea mine doesn't look like that. It doesn't have an electrical connecter going to it. Is mine an older model?

Ok on the drawing it looks like exhaust gasses enter through the bottom hole. So if the valve is extended, it is closed. If the valve is retracted, it would be open.

Would appear that its going to be the same. Exhaust gasses in through the bottom. It just uses vacuum to move the valve. You should be able to grab a flashlight and look in there and see if the valve is down or up.

If you have compressed air you could try to pressurize the bottom port and see if you have air coming out the top

It seems to be alright. Found a possible vaccum leak though. Also just checked the timing. It all lines up. Can't think of anything else to check now besides changing the fuel filter.

Cool. Well the fuel filter is a bit of a pain. Easy to access, but you will put fuel on the ground. So do it in a well ventilated area and be prepared to get it all over you.

I was wondering could a bad battery be causing this problem? Because mine keeps dying after like 9-10 times of trying to start it to no avail. Is that normal? Or should I be able to get more starts out of it?

Sounds about right. When you get it all figured out you might need a new battery due to going dead so many times. But yes your battery will go dead after trying 9-10 times.

Alright. Also, I just went to go put some Lucas in the fuel tank and when I took the gas cap off, a lot of pressure released. I haven't tried to start in since last night, but is this normal as well?

The pressure in the tank is normal means everything is functioning correctly.
