1jz vvti ecu pinout / sc300 body pinout
#32
Thread jack, sorry.
Can not pm? wierd.. Please share here as well! I just got the same vvti setup in and it is going into my 92 sc3 5sp. e-mail denvermotorsports@msn.com Thanks!
Can anybody confirm that this swap 1jzgte vvti with the ecu #89661-22790 is from a 96? Funny though I orderd it in and they (tiger jap) sold it as a 1991 chaser?

Here is an interesting find for 1jz plugs that you can get from other vehicles at the junk yard (some cars, that is..)

Any help with identifying these?
I am going to try to meter these out to identify what goes with what, with the location number/ connector as well.

You are on the wrong path. Those plugs go into a JZX100. You have a JZZ31. Completely different plugs with pin arrangements. What you'll have to do is individually trace each wire and either repin it into your JZZ31's plugs or when not applicable (such as TRAC) delete. You trace from either the engine bay plugs or the ECU therefore labeling the body plugs is pointless.

^^ I was looking to help seperate important wiring and those plugs that you can loose.
account2x- just removing the track controls will have no effect on the ecu?
Is anything other than the #4 Fuel pump relay, #5 TE1 Diag really needed on the 16p connector "H"?
On connector "G" 28p Are these the only ones that are needed?
#22 B+ efi relay
#14 BATT
#13 CCO – Diags Block
#12 SPD – Speed sensor from dash
#11 TE2 – Diags Block
#9 IGSW
Thanks in advance!

You loose all those plugs because they are JZX100 not JZZ31.
If you do the harness correct the only pins you'll remove are:
From the JZZ31 plugs: some obd-i diagnostic pins, the rear oxygen sensor, and cruise control (IDL1) to body plug
From the JZX100 ecu: the obd-ii diagnostic pins, the cat temperature warning, and traction control.

I compleated the pics with the diagrams for the harness. It can be seen here

I just added it to the 1/2jz swap info section.

Don't take this the wrong way as an attack but you wasted your time with the JZX100 body plug pinouts.
Look at JZZ31 body plug.
Trace a wire.
Look up It's function on the 2JZ-GE ECU pinout.
Using 1JZ-GTE VVT-i pinout find location on new ecu.
Solder or depin.
The donor harness body plug pinouts are irrelevant.

I've been searching for weeks, this seems to be as good as it gets besides a similar post on SF. Has there been any progress on the 1JZ VVTi wiring into an SC? I'm doing this all myself but may just break down and use Tweak. Just makes me cringe paying over $1k to replace a perfectly good harness with another. I think the toughest part is actually just figuring out which wire goes where, soldering and doing a clean job is easy.

I'm not sure if I've missed a similar note in this thread but I am putting these links here to help anyone using a Soarer 1JZGTE VVT-i motor set.
Soarer 1JZ-GTE VVT-i ECU Pinout:

And the master thread it came from, regarding a 1JZ VVT-i into S13 swap in very extensive detail with much universal 1JZ VVT-i info:

Sorry for digging up an old thread
If you´re going with a soarer 1jz vvti , the pin outs on the body plugs are ca 65% identical compared to a -95 sc400
II 1 (CH1)
100% identical (ac-related plug)
IJ1 (CF2)
3 pins differ(1,9,13)
IJ2 (CF1)
9 pins differ (5,6,8,10,12,13,14,15,16,17)
four of them has to do with the throttle control ecu communicating with the abs-ecu etc (13,14,15,17). I think you can run it without the throttle control ecu so it shouldn´t be a problem(??)
IK1(C11)
5 pins differ. 1,10,18,19). They are for the diagnostic plugs and the cruise control ecu, so not that important.
IK2(c12)
14 pins differ 1,6,7,8,9,10,,11,12,13,15,18,,22,23,24,25
Here you have to move some wires around.
I have the translated +97 soarer wiring diagram and a Summary ( in Swedish/English,( ha ha ) . Send me a PM if this can be of any help for you../A
