Default 2jz rods newbie question

I'm in the middle of a 1.5jz build and stuck on upgrading the rods or just machining the current 2jz rods. Power goal is about 450-500whp. I did a see post of the stock rods holding 1000hp, however the rods in my price range say they are good to 700hp. Would the stock rods machined be a better pick?

Yep, stock rods are good for at least 700 rwhp. I'm using stock rods with arp rod bolts in my engine.

The aftermarket rods are scat. Is anyone running these rods? I was leaning toward stock, however the prices are very close to each other.
