Default Battery Light. Altenator?

Changed the altentor and battery last winter. hadnt really driven much since. started using it again 2 months ago as the DD. few days ago the batt light just came on when i was driving. at idle it would flash. so i charged up the batt it was fine batt light was still on. the car sat for a few days started right up again. now its doing the Altenator routine. started losing power and it putted to a stop (sounded weird btw)

i geuss im going to take out the alt again and get it tested. but why have i gone through 3 of these in a little over a year. the last one i purchased was reburbed too. could there be a weird short somewhere i dont know about thats draining the batt and thats why the light was on for so long? any tests i can do with the car?
anyway if you have one for sale send me a PM.

Thanks
