Default My sc300 has new catalytic converters

Just thought I would throw this out there, I was searching and didn't find a ton of info the past few days(maybe I was searching poorly).

95 sc300 2jzge

I bought 2 Magnaflow cats from summit racing, $144 with free shipping(got them in 2 days) MPE-37105(front) MPE-91005(rear). I took them down to a local muffler shop who has done great work for me in the past.

At first they were really worried about the front cat being such an odd shape with the Y pipes coming off it. They ended up hacking off the front half Y part and welding that onto the magnaflow. The second cat they got rid of the goofy oval mid pipe and placed the cat slightly back further. They ran a mandrel S curve to get everything lined up using normal piping.

Cost 200 bucks for the labor which isn't horrible. They usually charge 60 to just hack off and weld on new cats, with all the labor and welding involved I was happy.

I'll try to get pics.

I've never been a seat of the pants dyno kinda guy so I would say no gain. It sounds ok with stock exhaust but comparing it to worn out cats isn't fair. I did this mainly to pass emissions, have a quality part and avoid high dollar direct fit replacements. Being high flow on NA isn't a big factor.
