Another dumb post. All that I'm saying is, it's not anyone place to say whether he picked the right or the wrong turbo, until you know his goals. IF he said that he wants a 1000hp, fire breathing monster, then he def. picked the wrong turbo. There are tons of kids that come on here saying that they are aiming for a reliable, streetable 400hp. And if that's their case, then this would be a perfect turbo for them running a 1jzgte.

Okay, I'm off my soapbox. Sorry if anyone took offense.

In for the dyno graph.

Non silvia and 93msb....don't waste ur time trying to rationalize with random scrubs. I'm only posting this info for people who have knowledge to share n good feed back. You can find barely any info on single turboed 1j's so I'm just trying to add some results.

Bottom line is my car now is extremely fun to daily drive and has the power up top to play with fast cars. I'm still on stock cams. 264s should get me 450-475 if tunned good. And that's my final goal for this project. Ill get some graphs up this week

Really would love to see the graph. When do you see positive spool? When do you hit full boost? At what rpm do you hit 398? Sounds like a nice road course setup.

I would love to see the graph too., I have a PTE 6262 .63 A/R, w/ 264 Cams, 550 injectors. I am making 414 HP @ 18 psi. 365hp around 4400. I just purchase a .84 divided exhaust housing. But hell i get the same at a lower rpm. I would be happy as hell, I was thinking of going with a QSV. But I would go with smaller turbo and sell the 62.

I have a t4 Drewgo Manifold, AFC neo as FC. Here is my graph. The pink line is mine. Compared to my buddies (the green line), he is running a T67, 440 injectors, Afc Neo. Automatic.

Small Turbo's FTW.

You see this all the time in DSM land.

You got a "New" guy that has the "Best" of everything. BB 50-trim, Cams, BLah, blah, blah.

He goes to the drag and runs 13.9@ 100 w/ 2.2 60-ft

Then, you got the Veteran that has been ripping 12.0's for 4 years in a row on a "small" EVOIII 16G.

The point is, Small turbo's that are tuned well are more fun on the street.

And in most cases with all the experimentation, faster.

The guys that have plenty info on building the 1JZ outside of Japan would in my mind be the Aussies. Here are two post that I hope will help. Bear in mind that the Aussies dyno are 15% more conservative than a US one and they usually give their figure in kw (multiply by 1.34 to convert to hp).

These links aren't anything special.

The first one is from 2006, and the other one is from 2008.

I wanna see the sheet from the 5857.

Oh and a T4 .58 hotside is like a .80 T3, not as small as you think it is. Plenty of flow for a 2.5 liter engine.

I have actaully ridden in his 1992 SC300 he converted over to the 5857 just last week. This was the first car that I have ridden in with a single turbo setup and a 1JZ. I was highly impressed. It doesnt start to pull until around 3500 rpm or so. This is a perfect setup for a DAILY DRIVER on a street. He also has the W58 tranny. When we hit 60mph, it was still wanting to spin the rear tires. Al is very knowledgable about his setup and he has done a ton of research on his setup and what his goals were. He accomplished his mission and has a safe, fast, reliable 1JZ with Precision 5857 turbo. He has only got outran by one car, his buddies 240 that is fully built.. Al's is only stock internal, 550 injectors, APEXI piggyback, resistor pack, intercooler, and a few others. Overall I was very, very impressed with his SC300 1JZ sleeper car! This has made my decision to prolly go with a 1JZ instead of a 2JZ..

Al I hope you didnt mind my thoughts and opinions?
