Spark Plugs drenched in oil, 2jzge vvti
So today I decided to try to do a compression test on my cylinders. Before pulling out the spark plugs I noticed 2 out of 6 had oil around it in the valley. Pulled them out and those 2 spark plugs where drenched in oil. Looked inside the spark plug hole and saw excess oil, and a mirror reflection. Car has 155k miles on it.
Did some research and read that oil in the spark plug valley is often a indication of a worn valve cover gasket.
Question is, is the excess oil in the spark plug 'hole' (not the valley) also caused by the worn valve cover gasket?

the oil that leaks out of the valve cover gasket will settle down in the spark plug holes. When you pulled out the spark plugs, more than likely the oil that was pooling up there spilled into the combustion chamber. Any reason for the compression test though?

Doubt that, although you are right, you should clean out all of the oil. Plug is not going to foul out specifically because of oil from the valve cover gasket.

This is pretty much right. Oil is above the spark plugs. You pull the plugs out. Due to gravity, the oil will run, via the spark plug hole, into the cylinder. This drenches the threads and causes oil to get on everything. If you burn oil like this it can foul a plug QUICKLY. If you manage to get as much of it out as possible, you should be okay. If I were you, I'd change those gaskets ASAP (mine was fracture in SIX places when removed, missing in one place) THEN after excess oil and grease burns off (maybe 1000 miles) change the oil again and change your plugs. This is pretty much as safe as it gets.
