Well i just did a oil change and, my rear main seal is leaking like a ****.

Anyways i was wondering if i have to take off the RMS bracket (according to redphoenix) but in this thread this guy didnt. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/trans...n/removal.html

Also, is there a gasket behind the RMS bracket?

Yes if you remove the RMS bracket you will have to use some rtv to reseal it. it's more expensive with the bracket on it.you can just buy the seal itself and replace it, it's not to bad.

Yeah if i am going to take off the bracket i'll go and grab toyota fipg. What do you mean more expensive with the bracket on?

I already ordered the seal and am just wondering if i were to take off the bracket would i need a gasket (or would it come with the seal)

hey i have that clutch lol

i remember when i did my swap last spring. i had the chance to pull my whole engine which made it so much easier. but my clutch pedal still squeaks like its new every time i push it in kinda annoying but the swap was well worth it.

Nice, good luck on the swap! Are you going to be using the W58 from Tom's car?

Yes i am, we were able to get it to run after we bought it wasn't in the best shape. Shifted a little rough, but after draining the transmission i could see why since white fluid came out then orange. I'm sure with new tranny fluid it'll run completely fine.

Thanks, tomorrows the big day

BUT i have a few questions hopefully someone can chime in.

Am i suppose to grease / lube anything on the manual tranny. I THINK your suppose to lube the tip of the spline where it connects to the pilot bearing. Can anyone confirm?

Do i need 31481A from the manual tranny? Or does the auto have one as well? If it doesn't i guess i gotta go make a run to my buddies place to rip it off the SC donor.
