i swapped my r12 es300 over to r134 and as mentioned, it takes longer to cool and doesnt cool as well at idle as it does highway rpms but overall im happy and it was WAY cheaper.

couple of cans of R12 and the fill adapter are less than $100 though. retrofit isn't much cheaper, unless you are refilling it a lot.

Man i just got some horrible news....
i went to get my a/c checked out today and they stated that my expansion valve is messed up and they have to take the dash out to replace and fix it and it is a 7 to 8 hr job price wold run me around $850 to 1400...SMH he also stated when he went to try an put the freon in it instantly came out? is there another possibility for this problem and is there a possibility that he's wrong and its something simpler?

Not sure how to solve our issue ^, but pulling the dash is pretty simple, just gotta be careful, getting to the parts is not that hard. Expansion valve at a parts store is around 60 - 100 $ so you should be able to save money and do the work yourself
