t56 isnt strong know from experience i had one in my lt1 car that was making 615rwhp at the time, with new synnchros and 3-4 viper steel shift fork, the car after making one mid 10 sec pass at the track taking it easy out of the hole the trans started whining and also t56 is sloppy compared to v160. I personally would not pick a t56 over a r154.

Well I know there were a few people looking into doing T56 swap a while back and I know a guy on SF had a almost finish swap to t56 on SF for sale a while back. I already have an R154, which can be gotten for a resonable price. But, with cost of bell housing, clutch & flywheel (Spec), driveshaft, etc I was already over $4K.

I thought the Viper T56 were stronger than the rest I thought some guys were pushing 1000 in some Vipers running a T56?

getrag is def. more stronger then the basic t-56. t-56 are cheaper and easier to find. a tko transmission (basic t-5, tko-600)is equivelant to a w58 tp R154. Thor racing sells a tko adapter kit. The owner is Pete. He willing to sell just the plate as well. Rush imports website is a joke =/
Try thor racing from uk!

1000hp at the flywheel for roll on races only, any type of shock and its done. Mine did have viper synchros and shift fork so it was "viper spec" Thres people that build them better with better parts once again $$$ and at the end of the day its still a sloppy hard to find 3rd gets hung up in between gears t56

True I do kinda fall into the roll racer category since I ran auto for so long then when I finally did a dig race it killed my stock auto in my GS.

Ah well I thought it would be helpful to some I'll stick with the R154 for now then.

And on the V160/1 you can get them for around $2k-3k depending on miles and rebuilt or not.

those 1000hp vipers have built trannys..
i have owned t56, r156 and v160 and the toyota trannys are way smoother and have had less issues in the long run!

i would do the r154 before the t56 haha, dont mess with miss and match part that stuff will not work properly and it's too expensive anyway.

i thought it was 10k because you end up paying that much to have one installed in a car because of all the high prices on v160 parts?

i've never driven a r154 or v160 but i have driven t56 and it feels very 'sluggish' its like the shift throw of the transmission feels kinda weird...

pointless post! i know!

t56 feels like a better version of w58...t45 out of sn95 is probably equal to a w58

my thoughts excatly. i bought my sc400 with intention of driving it stock until i could afford a ls1/t56 to swap in.
