supra 1jz
I found a supra 1jz with the 5 speed transmission on craigslist for fairly cheap. But I have a few questions before i buy it.
My car is a 93 manual sc300.
I need a shifter extension on the r154 transmission to fit into my lexus. Can I use the one off of my stock transmission?
If not where can I find one?
Also even though my car is already a manual Ill still need the front drive shaft from a supra/soarer right?
If I can get a soarer harness and ecu wouldnt that make it just like a soarer engine and save me the hassle of having to completely rewire the supra harness? Or is it fairly easy to rewire the supra harness to work?

after finding more out about the engine ill need a new ecu. There is so many different 1jz ecu numbers. Does anyone know the part number it is. Ive been searching and so far it seems most people say there ecu had a sticker with 36 on it.
I think this parts number might be a 1jz manual ecu 89661-24291. Can any one confirm this?
89661-22620 is a chaser right?
89661 22610?
Or if any one has a soarer ecu (and harness) that I could buy, preferably manual, that would work as well.

It doesn't matter what ECU you get, honestly.
You can't chip them, and if anyone says "The Soarer ECU has more aggressive timing" or whatever, they've never seen how much more aggressive, 1-2 degrees max.
I have an Auto ECU, and it works just fine. The only Difference is the A/T control integrated in the ECU. The clutch switch is in the shifter "P" position on an Auto.
The most important thing is that you don't get a Chaser Harness, cause then your life will suck, ask me how I know.
2 months on Google, sifting through Wiring diagrams in Japanese, sourcing an ECU plug that resides on the Body of the Chaser that you have to find from a 6-cylinder Japanese Sedan from the late 90's, etc..

so your saying that i can use the supra ecu with a soarer harness?
I thought some of the wires were switched around?
Also isnt the soarer ecu a direct plug and play, except for extending and tach/temp.
I thought the supra ecu was alot more difficult to get to work because of the rewiring??
