There shouldn't be.

A voltage range, is a voltage range. That's what ECU's use for data.

Either they operate in the range, or they don't. Nothing magical.

Shouldn't be but have seen them cause issues before but I wouldn't dump money into it based on distributor.

And no voltage is not voltage. You can have ground resistance which is a huge deal on a car.

Like I said be smart and check everything with the proper tools. Throwing a part at the car will end up making you fustrated and want to sell it.

Well I knew my ECT was bad no big deal. The car started on its own just fine until one day I said "Lemme clean my IACV" I took the TPS off and the IACV off. cleaned the IACV and put them both back on. Pretty darn sure the TPS is set right as well even though turning it and unplugging it doesnt seem to cause the car to run differently.

Yes it is. Either 0-1volt or 0-5 volts. That's it for any EFI system.

The only resistance is through a wire that has current in it.

Resistance can be explained like this:

If you have a 12v+ Wire and you hook up an accessory to it, the accessory will work.

When you hook up 3 accessories to the single 12v+ you will find there isn't enough current to power these accessories, thus you have too much resistance through the 12v+.

There is no "Ground resistance" Because the ground is what completes the circuit.

With the ground (Or earth if you had to sift through Japanese Wiring schematics like I did) Either the circuit is shorted, or it is complete.

I wired my own 1jz from a JZX90 Chaser without Tweak.

It's all very simple but people seem to think there is Magic/voodoo in EFI.

The only "Proper tools" you need is a digital multi-meter, and a FSM.

I appreciate all of the feedback and replies. I'm not sure if buying a new IACV and testing it to see if it works is the right route to take or not.

I spoke with a good mechanic friend today and he told me he is pretty sure It's ECT sensor related. He said yes I got a new one but still it may be a bad one or something within that circuit is not functioning right. Going to take my snap-on modis scanner and go for a ride with him later this week and see what we can find. Praying for a bad ECT sensor.

engine coolant temp sensor. It's part of what tells your car what temperature it is when it's starting so if it's telling my car it's warmer or colder than it really is it could be giving me starting issues.
