how to swap 1998 motor to 1995 sc300
hello every one,
I just bought a 1995 SC300, the motor blow out i need to replace it.
I'm thinking to find a way to convert to 1998.
Is that possible to do that? Also, witch motor should i look for, and do i have to replace the transmission ?
Please help me out!

Are you wanting to stay wih the 300 or go 400? That s the question you need to ask yourself. I would replace with what is in it. Less of a headache. It can be done, but depends on your check book and time. GL

1998 SC300 uses the same transmission. Only 1998 SC400 got an updated 5 speed automatic.
For your information it is more difficult to swap in a USDM 2JZ-GE VVT-i engine than a JDM 2JZ-GTE VVT-i engine. Reason being the fuel tank (OBD-II sensors & returnless system) and the Immobilizer chip found inside the computer.
