Differential Fluid change...questions
First off...what differential fluid should I use? Is there a Toyota fluid, or what brand and how much (both $ and quantity)?
Second, did you notice any difference once you changed the differential fluid? Did you notice your car any quieter, smoother, etc.? Just curious.
It seems like an easy thing to do. I'm doing to do a second transmission drain and fill and figured I'd do the differential fluid while I had the car up.
Thoughts?

I like redline fluid, it maybe over kill if your differential is a simple open style but it is good fluid and you only need a small amount so it is under 20-30 bucks. If it has never been changed you really need to change it, not to gain anything but to prolong the life of your differential. You may notice it runs quieter if the fluid is so old now that it is really loud, likely you won't notice a thing though.
Make sure you remove the Fill plug first then the drain plug. Also clean the drain plug magnet off before putting it back in. It will be covered in metal shaving.
Redline 75w90 x 1.3 qts, you can buy it on amazon.com I believe for like $12 bucks a bottle, buy 2 and have some left over.
