SC300 Performance TC Update
Okay folks. I got back from Tokyo earlier today and it took me less than two hours before I headed to Magnussen Lexus of Fremont, Cali with my modified torque converter. I must tell you guys that the people at Magnussen Lexus are mod friendly. Apparently they get alot of ISs there. Well they got me a loaner car on the spot with no wait and in a few moments I was off to go sleep off some serious jetlag.
The converter is from Pro-Torque and is a reworked core to give me a stall speed of 2800-3000RPM.
I will keep you posted on the progress of this and the results when I punch the throttle.
On another note, my turbo kit is now floating somewhere between Cali and Florida!!! I guess they couldn't find my address. Oh well at least I get to see my SC in stages.

Update
The initial quote was $650 installed. I had to bargain it down from $1300
After dropping the tranny the cost has risen to a tad above $1000. They told me I need to replace some seals when they replace the TC. I am not too happy so far since I was quoted $400-500 from every other shop. My transmission better be running pretty darn well when I get the car back.
The ProTorque TC did not match up and a new one was overnighted to the shop.
Looks like its going to be a saga.
I am feeling more and more that it might be a good idea that people in the future simply buy a built tranny and put it in.
Now please remember that the TC not fitting is not the fault of the Lexus dealership at all. Hopefully their workmanship at the dealership will make up for the sudden increased cost of the labor.
