Default Noise that sounds like knock, but speed dependent not RPM dependent

My car makes a noise that sounds a lot like knock, happened on the highway one day, thought it was the bottom end (stock but 220K miles) but now maybe I'm thinking its a wheel or driveshaft issue. Anyone had anything like this? Motor sounds great not moving and gassing it. One hub is missing a stud but has been missing it for a few years now so I wasn't thinking the wheel was off. Lugs are tight. Maybe the stud is rearing it's ugly head now? Sound gets quicker at speed which is why i was thinking wheel or driveshaft

thanks for any insight

lol man you need to narrow it down alot better then that.

Do you want us to list all the things on a car that can possibly make a knocking sound?

U have to figure out where the sound is coming from, under the car, rear, front, left right etc..........

Or better yet take it to a mechanic for a proper diagnosis.

I have run a similar problem this summer, after looking correclty, both of my engine mounts were broken, and the right one was really damage..(too much lapping?) Well.. because of that, my downpipe was knocking on the subframe!

So maybe you have something like that?

Check the carrier bearing for the driveshaft, mine is bad and currently causes some vibrations with a knocking noise that is speed dependent.
