Default HID Garbage

i have a completely factory sc300 other than one thing, a half assed HID kit that came out of a toyota, but the bulbs only slightly fit and dont lock in. im wondering all of what i will need to return it to factory or what i can do to make the HID's work properly. no light hits the road, it gets throw all over the place.

Check out HiDplanet.com forums for fixing the HIDs. If you want to go back to stock, I would imagine just removing the HID ballasts and bulbs, and then finding a stock bulb harness from a junk yard to put back in would solve your problem. Sounds like the HID kit that is being used though isn't the right bulb model for your SC.

definitely not the right bulbs. attempted to aim them but the light was going everywhere but where it should be, in front of the car.

That sucks man! Another place you might check out though for fixing your HID problem is theretrofitsource.com, I've heard if you contact them and tell them what you have going on, they can point you in the right direction and get you what you need to have the right fit.

I've done lots of research on switching to HID's for my SC, and have looked at every thread possible so that I can do the job right the first time.

Hope you find the info you need!

Just buy the right sized bulbs for $15 from DDM Tuning. The ballasts are universal if they're aftermarket kits.

Mine sucked as well so I took them out. I bought them from a vendor on club lexus but I don't remember who. The light spread everywhere with no cut off line. Not to mention when I would turn them on, the RPM's would bounce up like 500+! I don't trust these cheap kits anymore...not to mention checking out a few posts about cars burning to the ground.

Bought a pnp upgrade kit from trs.com with morimoto mini d2s projectors. Decided I wanted to upgrade rather than just throw bulbs in, my projectors are all foggy anyways and would rather update than just takem apart and clean them.
