What intake are you using 4 stock twins?
Whats up guys, I installed a driftmotion intake kit on my 1jz in October 2010 and noticed a couple months ago that the glue that holds the filter in place has i guess melted due to the heat under the hood. Now my filter is sort of loose and I would like to replace it with something more reliable & of better quality.
I dont know if its because the filter is just cheap, or if the 1jz intake kit they have on driftmotion is mainly meant for mk4 supras and 1jz cressidas....but i think its because its cheap

I ran into the same problem.... well kinda. I just couldn't find any aftermarket air intake kits for the SC with a swap. I basically just made my own with a custom heatshield and a K&N cone filter. I first bought a 300 dollar Max AIR II intake from MVP for a MKIV but itdid not work with the SC at all, way too big.

Make it yourself using those universal intercooler kits off ebay. I'll post mine up in a lil while.
Oh and of course if you have leftover from your intake, you can do a complete frontmount
I think it was right around ~90 shipped plus another ~10 bucks for a can of Krylon flat black.

I bought the driftmotion one. The filter is the standard cheap china one, but it works fine. I removed mine and sprayed it out with compressed air and there was ALOT of dirt it had caught.
If I was doing it over again I'd instead buy some universal piping and run twin intakes from each turbo with 2 k/n filters.
I just bought a Simota brand air filter and the rubber they use is really good quality compared to other cheap filters Ive seen. I paid like $25 shipped for it
