Do you realize how much a LS7 engine is? its a waste of money considering.... You can get a LS2 + T-56 6-speed + super charger for less money and be making 500+ HP to the wheels reliably.

and if you plan on doing a LSx swap, here is a FAQ i started:

If money really is not a problem, then why don't you just pay someone to make an engine fit into the SC chassis.

This sounds like a pipe dream thread to me.....

have you guys not seen the LSX motor mounts for sale on ebay for the SC chassis?
usually once there are mounts for a swap, the overall price to put one in goes down considerably.

Throw in a TBI 454... Then you get 7.4L and the same motor as a cigarette boat if you want to be unique and cheap
Heads, Intake mani, cams, go carb'd, and exhaust... 454SS SC

I'll say from BOTH a power output and fuel economy stanpoint, the LS1 is far superior to any motor Toyota made in the 90's. I've owned a 1992 2JZ/5 speed SC300, a 1995 Caddy Fleetwood with the LT1, a 1999 Z28 Camaro/LS1 automatic t-top, and a 1998 LS1/6 speed manual Z28 Camaro drop top.

Guess what, I got around the same fuel economy in all of those cars, except the Caddy got around 15-17mpg in town, 23mpg highway. The LS1 v8 is far superior in stock form to the 2JZ except in smoothness and quietness, it gets about the same gas mileage, and has about 100 more horsepower stock.

EDIT: All that being said, the SC300 is screwed together about a billion times better than those GM tanks, handles a lot nicer, and its a bit quicker than that Cadillac boat(not by very much, that Cadillac would give the SC300 hell off the line)
