VVTI Coil Packs and Dizzy deleting!
Start off by using Ali SC3 thread on his dizzy delete has all the info you need in it right there!
made the wire harness from the new ignitor to the coils.
ordered the clips from drift motion and the ignitor terminal as well
removed the old wires and pop in the new coils and ran the wire harness to the correct plugs.
new ignitor(off a IS300 i believe) mounted on the same bracket as the old one just used 1 screw it seemed pretty secure. ran the 2 new wires to the ems
bypassed the R109 resistor on the back of your cluster to make the tach work with this setup
went into the aem set ignition phasing to 21.53, turned on coils 2,3, 6-8 then resync the timing
have yet to delete the dizzy but all this so far was hardly any work the thing that took longest was fishing the stupid wires through the firewall and the soldering for the harness. took my sweet time doing all this while texting people and surfing the forums only took maybe 3 hours? seems like it idles a little smoother... or it just make a tad easier on the eyes without all the wires.. im not sure...
difficulty scale 1-10 i would say its like a 3.5 so if you are on a standalone you have no reason not to do this!
...will continue with the dizzy delete on monday!

wow I just saw this thread, looks great man. I am sure it does idle smoother, in fact vvti coils do everything smoother with alot more punch. You will especially notice the difference if you switch to stockTT plugs, you can go with coppers since you have a FFIM, but for those with the stock intake I recommend getting the Iridiums unless you enjoy taking off your throttle body when those coppers bite the dust. If you run over 1 bar drop down a heat range, if running over 20 psi drop down 2 ranges.
hope its still running well!

^^ yeah i am pretty sure this won't work with a regular 92-97 GE ECU, as they only have one ignition output to fire the one ignition coil.
if you use the GTE ECU you only use 3 of the 6 ignition outputs for the 3 channel IS300 igniter/coils
and if you use a standalone you can set it up however you want
anyone feel free to correct me on the above ^

^^^ since it fires in batch you can only 3 outputs since it's 1coil per 2 cylinders 1&6, 2&5 and 3&4. if you are running TT coils/LS2 coils or 1ZZ coils i would run them individually (1 coil )per cylinder and them run them at the ecu at 52b,53b,54b,55b,56, and 57b.
ds61 and 62 are all the same.
you need a gte ecu or standalone to do this.

^^^It looks to me like its a 7m cps setup...
@carmill +quick thanks...i have megasquirt(which is forsale) so all i need now is to get the matching coils..n re pin the wires according to Ali's thread?

Really depending on what you are trying to do but i would not sell a standalone to use the stock ecu , unless you plan to be on pump gas with tt headgasket for a long time.
I understand if you wanna run 93 oct and tt headgasket then you can get away with stock ecu and your goal are under 500.
I wanted to use the tt ecu also , but i always wanted to run E85, not swapping the HG and make alot of power ,
gl with the project man!
