Default Fuse Box Trunk Relocation

To anyone that has done this did you have to increase the size of the wires to make up for the longer distance that is being traveled? 20awg to 18 awg and 16awg to 14 and so on?

i wouldn't bother increasing the size of the wire. you're only moving it about 10 feet.

where are you running the wires, BTW, i am curious.

I was planing to run it through the stock grommet by driver front fender, under carpet and in through the back seat and end up in the location of the cd changer.

the length of the each wire comes out to about 20ft in length.

no need to...you are not talking high current. I kept all the lines the same or possibly 2 awg bigger at the most but that was due to convenience of the wire I had

i was always taught when relocating a battery you would have to upgrade 2 wire sizes to keep the power supplied the same i would assume the same if u r relocating a fuse box

IMO i would get the fatter wire but to each his own

How is the fuse box grounded? Is it through the screws that hold it down to the body or another way? Is it even grounded at all?
