Default So finally got my car on a lift...

Underside didn't have any rust. Which is something to note, as I live by chicago in the rustbelt. So there is no worries about the car getting to rusty anytime soon.

Alternator had red fluid on it.. I assumed power steering, previous owner replaced alternator as it looked brand new. I bet fluid got on it and ruined the old one. So I need a power steering pump right? or is there another fix?

Oil appeared to be all over the transmission. So rear main seal???

The driveshaft was pretty solid, and the center bearing appeared to be in ok condition. The BLACK DONUT looking things made form rubber. There was 2. One by the trans and one by the diff. They were in ok looking condition but the rubber had cracks. So idk if I should replace them or not.

My only issue with my car, is a minor vibration at highway speed and noise from under the shifter like a wheel bearing but not as bad. Sounds like it does it at idle...also. TOrque convertor???

I am new to automatics and new to rwd, and new to v8's so I am just like a sponge looking for info right now. I have owned the car for 1 month and already found out alot about it.
Any help would be nice.

If you wantto check the torque converter is bad then get in your car have one foot on the brake and the other on the gas put it in drive rev to around 2k 3k and if rpms start to droP then you have a bad torque converter

The leak is coming from the front main seal, most likely when the timing belt and all that good stuff was done they didn't do the front main seal. Exactly like my problem. I won't do it until the next timing belt, anyways I only loose half the oil every 5000mi, almost time for the next oil change. PS pump is leaking, more likely the high pressure hose also. Really funny because that is exactly where I'm at a year ago. Good luck.

any red fluid on top of your alternator is more often than not PS fluid and that whine will surely start getting louder when the leak on those banjo bolts or hoses gets worse and fluid level goes down.

Maybe I'm forgetting my 2JZ anatomy, isn't the power steering pump right above the A/C unit, and the alternator is on the opposite side by the water pump?

I've been spending too much time with VQ35's, LSx, and modulars. Can't remember how the accessories run.
