Just came across this thread, I can't believe I've never seen this.
This sounds like a great alternative to a r154 swap and of course the expensive v160 swap. Keep us posted! I'm back on the w58 but I have a feeling if I'm going to be rowing gears with 400+whp I may need a r154 or something stronger in the future.
I've been down the v160 route, and after being 10k invested in the setup I had alot of regrets. Justifying the cost of the swap and the value of the car made me reconsider it and thus ended in me parting it out. I would be open to a swap if I can maintain a 1500-2000k budget but it seems like some of the one of kit pieces are what makes this swap price climb.

what really makes this especially interesting is there are several clutch manufacturers especially twin and triple disc kits to hold in excess of 700+ Z1 has a unit that's under a grand, and you do a search and there are several links to used twin disc kits being sold( of course you are rolling the dice but it's out there)

Hey Halon, any news mate ?
Do you know what are the sizes of the bolts that go to fly adapter? I guess arp for yota fly wont fit .
Tried to contact this adapter guy but seems he is not very communicable and not really great to deal with.
I suggest to find other source for the adapters .

i'm finally getting the ball rolling on mine. Halon did you by chance catalog the bolts you use to attach the 350z transmission to the adapter plate? that is still one thing i need to do.. so far i'll throw a few pictures up. there are a few things that still need to be figured out, like the ARP 1jz flywheel studs being a bit short, so something else should be used.
mods to transmission side:
custom fit release bearing and 5/8ths shaved off the bellhousing.
mods to motor side:
pilot bushing adapter:
flywheel sitting over the pilot bushing adapter
flywheel bolts seem a bit short, the one in the flywheel is just pushed in and not threaded
starter issue.. 1jz starter shown in picture
i'm waiting for a reply from Brett, but the machined parts themselves are very well built!
once i get everything built and documented i will make a separate thread with the details and info in it too. for now this is the catchall thread though
