I have seen two different types and shapes of sensors. I had a hard time finding one for my car and had to modify one to work. Check out my thread for pics of the two different sensors and what I did to make one work.

actually that was very helpful but i have another question for you .. what year is your sc ? and do you know of a place to buy one of these? i just need the top part where the connector actually plugs in so i was thinking i could just unscrew the two bolts under the plug part and just switch them over.. you think it would work like that ?

My car is a 92. During my hunt for a sensor, I never could determine why certain cars get different sensors. I am not sure that piece will just come apart if you remove the screws, but it's worth a shot
