cams are not cheap your looking at at least 500 dollars if not a lot more (you need FOUR of them after all) plus there is the install and tuning of them. that being said a cam would give you a significant upgrade along with more fuel i imagine. but perhaps thats not the first place to start

best advice i have for you is to search there are a number of ways to get more power out of the 1uz and they all cost $$$$$ turbo, supercharger, ITB's, cam and head work, goggle 9300 rpm 1uz and see all what he has done to the car. Visit lextreme there is alot of info on the uz there

oh yea and did i mention it cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$ to get power out of the 1uz

best way to get power in an SC400, JZ swap it.

but seriously, the UZ doesnt have the amount of aftermarket support the JZ has, so things are not going to be exactly "cheap". first things you should worry about are opening up the Intake and exhaust systems. cams wont get you anything unless your I/E systems can flow the extra air they will allow for.

I work at a place that deals with stainless steel. I plan on using a gasket to make my own header collector and have them weld the pipes etc etc. Probaly cost like $20 in scrap.

I'm the Controller of a tube bending shop that makes aircraft parts. It's not quite that simple. There are all sorts of considerations besides just slapping something together. You need to consider fluid dynamics, the ability of the material to handle the repeated heat stress, etc.

If someone can get decent drawings, as in professional grade specs, I'd see if it'd be worth it to have our shop build headers.
