Yea, I tune myself so it's not a big deal to me. I'll probably wait till after TX2k event as my car is tuned for the event on Thursday at 15lbs.

I have BNIB 550cc maybe i can try that with my AEM so i don't have to swap headgaskets. But then again why pay for a tune twice. A standalone tune isn't cheap. If you do it twice you could have gotten some nice injectors for that price.

This desire for E-85 on small injectors single walbro 255 pumps stock ECU's no timing controls and piggy back fuel computers are all a recipe for disaster.

sorry to be the voice of reason!!!!!!!!!!!

First off I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you know how to tune your own car and can monitor it at all times. The reason why I tried this is because I wanted to see what the max potential of the stock twins are without spending $10 a gallon on C16. E85 is $3.19 a gallon and the 550s and resistor pack cost me $175. I don't need to build a 800rwhp capable fuel system at the moment for the stock twins.

I installed my 2JZ 550's on my 1JZ-GTE and filled up with E85. Tuning with my MAP-ECU 2, the injectors reach their limit at about 13-14PSI, with safe AFR, not inducing boost cut. I wasn't monitoring the stock ECU timing so I can't say I gained any timing at this low of a PSI. The car did feel like it had more power compared to 93 octane, even with the stock ecu controlling timing (pretty aggressive anyways). People normally running 91 octane may benefit due to knock suppression from the E85 at 13-14psi. Also, I will definitely be able to gain power under the curve and spool up by advancing timing.

Conclusion:
I will either add meth injection with the E-85 or switch back to 93 octane and run 18-20psi. I'm guessing 400RWHP+ will be achievable on a manual transmission, from my butt dyno with E85. Another thing I could do is add a few gallons of 93, but without a flex fuel setup, I'd have fine tune WOT every tank (not that big of a deal for me). If you have a standalone ECU you might be able to increase the duty cycle of the injectors more, otherwise you may as well go with 1000cc+ injectors and do a full fuel system.

EDIT: It took 5 gallons of 93 and the rest of the tank with E85 to be able to run 19PSI at 11 AFR, pulling hard.

i also havnt noticed a single person with the soarer fuel sender NOT having issues when using ethanol - ie. dont rely on your fuel gauge to tell u how much fuel you have left
