Default Remanufactured Denso starters

Has anyone had experience with these? Looking at ordering one for the 1UZ since the price ($92 shipped) is pretty darned good compared to the $200+tax being offered locally.

Can't go wrong with Denso, even if it's re-manufactured.

What's wrong with your current starter? If it's just the brush going out, then you can replace them for $30 in parts.

Since there is no core charge, I figure to buy the newly remanufactured one for added insurance and rebuild the old one and sell it to get all my money back.

Rebuilld your current starter by replacing the contacts inside.

Default remanufactured starter

Don't do it ! purchased a reman starter and 3 months later it went down. I could not return it because I had stock piled parts during the fall and had them installed during the spring. The problem is the starters are in a bad spot and since I didn't install it myself I had to pay my mechanic for the labor 2x. Good thing he felt bad and installed it for 1/3 of the cost. Just my .02

Good luck,

re manufactured parts are only as good as the people doing the work on them...denso or not. Personally when I replace a dead part with a re manufactured one I make sure it has a warranty.

I wouldn't even consider it if it didn't have a 1 year warranty. A no-warranty starter I can do myself.
