Default Charcoal Canister Part Identification

Im missing a part, I noticed because where the part should be there is a "clean spot" and it should have a layer of dirt there just like everything else on the engine. Anyway, there's a vacuum hose that looks like it comes from the bottom of the charcoal canister and on the other end of this vacuum hose there is a check valve and on top of the check valve there is what toyota/lexus calls a grommet. I'm trying to find out if this part is important and is critical to the engine or other components operating correctly. Mainly if this would have a large impact if it was missing like mine is.

To me a grommet doesnt seem important at all, but its there for a reason I guess. Just dont remember what it looked like when it was on the car. Its to the left of the charcoal canister atleast on my 94 sc400. It also is used on the sc300 just not sure which years it was used.

I don't think you're missing anything. The hose at the bottom of the canister is a vent to atmosphere.

I don't recall anything being to the left of the canister except fender.

the valve is important, grommet not really sure I remember what you are talking about.
thats a safety pressure release, in case too much pressure builds up in the canister, it will release from there.

Yeah I just noticed a clean spot and didnt think that check valve should be exposed like that at one end. Its probably just a rubber grommet of some sort.
