If it can handle 28 PSI half of it should not see more oil pressure.

Since I am on the topic. What grade oil were you using on the 1JZ. Maybe that had something to do with the other guys turbo seals blowing ?
Non restricted for journal turbos restricted per manufacturer on BB turbos.
I don't believe the issue of oil pressure causes Failure but the condition of draining is a larger concern go big and make sure there is a smooth downward angle directly back to the pan no humps, 90 degree bends etc etc as I believe this is the most common issue with oil seal failures on JB turbos IMO.
I only use Penzoil 20W50 VR1.

Cool, got it. Good idea actually, you could be onto something there.
20w50 oil quite thick, is this too thick for the PT6765? Cannot be bad for the 1JZ Yamaha valves but what about the turbo? I was running 10w40 on stock twins. The new turbo being JB I am thinking going 10w40 is still ok, would not want to run too thin, and would like to get the flow moving in and out nicely.

I'm sure 10/30-40 would be acceptable just be consistent with changes as oil borne debris is a killer to a turbo.
Just FYI I run 20/50 VR-1 in my fully built 2JZ thats in my Signature as My clearances are much better than a Stock block.

Hey guys, I am stuck, where can I buy a NON-restricted oil feed flange? On ebay? Anywhere else? I need it to fit my PT6765 journal bearing and cant find it anywhere. What thread size is the turbo for oil feed?

I drilled mine but it seems a bit dodgy without a clamp to hold the flange, I'd rather have a clean smooth one if possible.

I just bought these http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-4AN-Oil-Fe...ht_2986wt_1193

They are 1/8 to 4an size. I hope this fits the pt6765 oil feed thread? Anyone can confirm? Shipping takes forever from USA, so just buying random ones.

Just spoke to Precision, their tech guy said this at first when I said I have the PT6765SP JB turbo.

" Our turbos have an internal restrictor in them from the factory. We recommend that you run a -4 an feed with a 1/8 NPT thread pitch on the other side. Cheers!"

Then I replied saying I have the Garrett internals and this was recommended.

"... the Garrett CHRA's do not have a internal restrictor in them. However, we sent them out of the factory with an external one attached to it. If you happen to be missing the restrictor for it, then you will want to use a .040 restrictor. Please let me know if I can assist you further!"

I think a 0.065 would be better, will see what they sat to that. This is good info for people in the similar boat.

Then i got this

" it appears I missed the fact that this was a JB turbo. That is one of our CHRA and you do not need a restrictor for it, a -4 an and 1/8inch thread will be sufficient for it."

There goes another $25 on restrictor! :-$

its not a standardized system of JB turbos not needing them and DBB needing them.. for instance:

I have a borg s362 (360 journal bearing) and I noticed yesterday a little smoke and burning oil smell. I believe my oil drain is backing up (iv had issues with this recently, iv replaced the oil drain flange, oil drain line and gasket) because I have to much oil pressure flowing through the turbo. So I just ordered a 1/8th restrictor for .065 restriction. Im hoping this will solve my problem.

"If -4AN or larger is used, an oil restrictor is required (just like GT turbos)"
