Starting problem out of no where?
This is the first time I ever had a problem with my Lexus SC300.
It starts up fine and drives fine all this time that I owned it, never gave me a problem until a hour ago. I'm in the San Francisco for the Memorial Holiday and was returning home until I went and put my Lexus key into the ignition and crank it but won't turn over.
I then used my remote start on my alarm, and it starts up fine. I turn the remote start off on my alarm and tried to start it again with my Lexus key, same thing just crank but won't turn over.
I used a Spare Lexus key and same thing, nada.
I'm thinking both keys are bad? What's the transponder lifespan on these Lexus keys? I don't like having problems, whatever the cause is, I would like it fix asap.
Tomorrow during work, I'm going to contact a Automotive Locksmith that can make program me a Lexus key. I'm thinking this is the problem?
I left the Lexus at the shop and drove the 300zx.

It's a 93 Lexus SC300. It's always started fine. I'm stumped myself. I'm thinking it has to do something within the ignition system where the key goes in. Something internal probably.
If I start it up with the remote start off my car alarm on my keychain, the car starts up fine. Which is really weird.

I've figured out the problem. It's a stupid mistake that happened.
I had the car a little too low when I went to San Francisco for the Memorial Day weekend, on my way back hit a small pot hole and my driver side wheel took a rubbing to the engine harness under the fender. Even though that harness was relocated a little higher up than it's original place, the wire got sliced into. One being a thicker 10 gauge and a few 12 gauge engine harness wires. I guessed the wires had to touch each other and blew the EFI fuse.
How did I determined this? When I armed my remote key alarm, the Check Engine Light and every other lights shows up before it starts itself up 5 seconds later.
When I put the key into the ignition, every other lights came on except Check Engine Light. So from that, I thought I go and check the Fuse box for blown fuses and found the EFI 30Amp Fuse blown. Replace it, and starts up the way it's suppose it.
Good thing I didn't have to rip apart the ignition switch which I wanted to hold off before I check the fuses. Must of been alot of wires touching each at one point to blow a 30Amp Fuse.
Great thing is, easy fix, no cost cause I kept under the Fuse cover 30Amp Fuse x 4.
