Hi guys, I have a 94 sc4 and need to recharge my ac. Do I use r12 which seems to be hard to find, or can i use r134a? I dont know which one to use, dont know much about a.cs.
I am going to do it myself with one of those autozone kits, is that fine or should i go to a recharge place for a few more bucks?
And where exactly is the low pressure spot at? Ive read that its on the passenger side firewall, but havent even checked yet.
Thanks guys!

Even if your sc300 wasn't originally on 134, it should be converted. If you find out you originally had freon, take it to a shop so the old freon can be recovered. Now is also the time to check for leaks and, if warranted, replace seals or hoses. If it is just a little weak, the Autozone style kits are adequate.

Heater works fine, the ac blows out regular air even on max cold.
So I should take it to an ac shop? Scared theyre going to charge me for all this other stuff to make a quick buck off a ac noob.

Even before you take to a shop, your going to have to convert your ac fittings to r134a in order for them to hook up the machine to get all of the r12 out of the system to put in the r134a.
