Default TRAC light on and TRAC OFF light on...HELP!?

Hey fellow CL members ok here is my dilemma...when i turn the car the ignition twice (before starting car on the 3rd click) i am able to use the TRAC swith to turn trac on or off...but when I actually start the car, the TRAC light come on and TRAC OFF light comes on and yes, i checked no CEL and the bulb isn't blown cuz the CEL light comes on with other lights before i start car then comes off. The thing is member how i said the switch (TRAC switch) works when car is off? when i start it...it doesn't work,,,what does this signify? it seems the owners before me were neglegent...the oil is pitch black (supposedly synthetic) which i'm changing obviously, and it was running rich and had so much carbon, i ran stp multipurpose engine treatment and it helped alot. SO any suggestions regarding the TRAC light and TRAC OFF light? let me remind you guys BOTH lights are on!!! help? lol

thanks!!!

Chris

Maybe an o2 sensor. Try to disconnect the battery some minutes to see if then goes off.
