Hello everyone, w56 swap questions.
I'm wondering about how much this swap will cost.
From what I know i will need:
-w56 tranny & clutch slave
-clutch pedal & master cylinder
-clutch lines
-adapter plate
-build a trans mount
I'm just wondering what the adapter plate costs, and what clutch master is used for the swap commonly. I'll be doing the work myself, so that should save me lots of money.
Thanks!

Good luck
I am currently almost done collecting the parts for my R154.

Yikes. that's far more than i was expecting to pay.
i thought if i got a tranny out of a running mk3 the stock 7m bell housing would mate to the 1uz with the adapter plate and i could just install the trans mount and plumb the clutch. of course there would be driveshaft work but thats easy.
sounding like it's not worth it for that price tag.
**EDIT**
Nevermind, that's all brand new pricing, I could probably get everything i need for under $1000.
The scary part is the pedal set, 400 bucks.. Cant you just use a stock soarer clutch?

ok so after some homework, i got the basics that I'll need to get the swap done for way cheaper than the write up. If i buy second hand parts, it should be right wround my total at the bottom.
the things that were in the write up but aren;t in my list can be had really cheap locally from a bolt bin or soemthing. If i can track down the parts for the pedal set someplace else i should be able to knock a couple hundred off this total.
Pedal set $485
W58 tranny $150
W58 Heavy Duty clutch $250
1j/2j W58 flywheel $75
1j/2j W58 bell housing $100
1j flywheel bolts $5
1j/2j flywheel bolt lock ring $5
W58 swan neck shifter $175
sc300 Manual shift boot $54
Marlin crawler vss $60
Total = $1359

The problem with a 58 (from supra mkIII or what not) is that the tail shaft/extension housing is too short.
Since mine was stock w58, every time (2) i blow up a w58, you have to open the case to get out the shift rod and i have to use my shifter housing. The others are too short..
Also, my W58 tailshaft wouldn't fit on the other w58's, so i had to use the w58 tail shaft that came with the transmission, and this only allows 2 of the 4 bolts for the trans mount to bolt up. Supras (mk3) use 2 inline bolts for the trans mount where it attaches to the trans, where as the SC's trans mount bolts are offset.
