Need help with Ac clutch or compressor...
I just replaced the ac clutch on my 92 sc300 automatic. When i purchased the car the owner told me he thought it may have been the ac relay, when you turn the ac on the light blinks and no cold air. I didnt think about it for months b/c it was cold out side, well no its hot, and living in crappy atlanta(humidity) doesn't help one bit. After a while I noticed a noise coming from the compressor (grinding) so I bought a new one. Well it turns out the guy sold me one for a GS not a SC. Me being the type of person I am I tore both apart to see if I could just change out the clutch. Everything seem to be the same except for the connector and lines. So I cut the wires and soldered everything together and everything seem to go back well. When I put everything together I start the car and the ac clutch is slightly engaged with the ac off or on(doesnt effect the speed of clutch spin) The compressor pulley along with all the other pulleys are spinning a lot faster than the clutch is. I haven't put freon in the car yet I was just checking to see if it would work. Now from what I know there is a washer/shim behind the clutch itself for clearance but I dont know if the one that came in the gs compressor is the right size. Oh by the way my compressor that was on the car looked like some ate to much mexican and later that night exploded everywhere.
What should I do...
Sorry for the crappy quality.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcN2Y...ature=youtu.be
