Default Idle backfire

okay so this is what happened. since i got the car its been backfiring idk why. i thought it was the valve cover gasket because the 6th and 5th cylinders would always be soaking in oil. anywho while i was "speeding next to another speeding car" one day i blew the water line behind the valve cover and it flooded my 6th and 5th cylinders elading to the roughest idle possible. anywho, i fixed all of that repaired some vacuum hoses, new plugs, new valve cover gaskets, cleaned the valve covers etc. got new wired the whole shabang. i thought my idle problem would cease but i still notice a slight shake once in a while and im pretty sure its a backfire. any ideas? this is the vibration kinda lol

____--________--_______--______ <== understand the diagram? happens every so often its weird.

also, i i have a whine. i thought it was the serpentine belt so i replaced that but it didnt go away. idk what that is. HELP. lol it sounds like it might be the timing belt or one of the pulleys or something idk.

Could be MAF, but from your description, it sounds not electrical, but mechanical...

It is very minimal, almost unnoticeable, but my car does this as well; I put on some aftermarket parts--headers, intake, catch can etc. So it may be from that. Also, when I changed my plugs I put denso plugs, however I did not gap them --- perhaps that's the cause?

You gap yours?

And dude MAF = M*** Air Flow sensor ---- its on your intake pipe.

Usually if you purchase new plugs made for your car, they are already gapped.
I don't think that un properly gapped spark plugs would cause such a problem though.
Did you replace spark plug wires as well?
