Anyways, doesn't another engine importer sell these? Are these modded or just JDM stock? The reason why I am asking is that Signal Auto is not cheap. Another engine importer probably could get these for much cheaper. They are reputable though and they open on Sundays too.
Gentleman's agreement=280ps max. You can get a 2JZ-GTE on Ebay for around $3000 give or take(depending on year, mileage, condition, etc...). When potatoBBQ finds out exactly what comes with the setup we will be able to determine whether it is a good deal or not.

If that includes them doing the work the price it not bad ,a six speed box on the net is worth about $1500.00 to $2000.00 by it self so that price for a complete swap is not bad .

all cars in japan are advertised as 280PS ( limited ) but are underrated, pretty much all the Japanese performance cars make around 320HP (Skyline, Supra, Subaru WRX STI and Nissan 300ZXTT).

This is a good deal because they do the labour for you, u can buy one off ebay but then u have do go through all the worrying of doing the swap.

even if it is a japanese engine it is a good deal, with the smaller ceramic CT26s you get quicker spool up thus making a little better mid range power and could make the car more fun to drive.

Cool

In that case it's a pretty good deal IMO(if you don't want to do the labor).

I work with many people from Japan. A few of them have had their hand in tuning. It seems on cars like the skyline and silvia, as well as others that one of these "governors" is simply a bolt under the accelerator that prevents the car from reaching full throttle. How's that for an easy "mod"? They also say it is not that easy to remove though.

Hey - I was just over at signal a few days ago..

That guy in the pic is the owner I think..he doesn't speak any english. My guess is that they do the 6 speed and 2JZ for US cars. They have a few skylines and stuff there. I saw a fixed up white SC they are workign on once.

They are off Carson street in torrance.

i dont think the STi is that high, i may be wrong, but if it is, then the Mitsu Lancer EVO should be about 320hp then too, right?

I just called Signal. If you have a SC300 automatic, it will cost an additional $600 for the conversion of 2JZ-GTE and 6 speed.

i'm sure if you bought the tranny, bellhousing, clutch and flywheel that they'd do the rest for you

so is this a good deal or not so good? Does the swap include EVERYTHING? Can you still get the major bpu gains?
